Default Stars $50 - limp/reraise with AA

Did i limp reraise enough here? The bet was $2, and i made it $11, but with those callers should i have made it like $15? Is the rest standard?

And this is an insta-push/ bet call regardless of the flop right? Is there any flop that could hit that would make me not get all in? I'm still new to NL, but my understanding is if someone calls this and is lucky enough to suck out, i just get stacked.

Looks fine.

I'd probably just open-push flop.

This is pretty well-played IMO. $15 pre is excessive. If somebody sucked out, they paid far out the ass to do so.

I'd raise a little more to say 13. Open shoving flop would be fine too, but seriously, with this board and two callers, chances are pretty good you could be behind now. This is not too big a problem though as they payed a far too big prize to suck out, as AllTheCheese alraedy mentionend...Your play was ok.

On a different note: I don't think that l/rr should be the default play with AA in EP, it's usefull as a mixup play though.

I dunno, i have been limp/reraising a lot because for some reason even though it's obvious i have AA (or maybe KK), if i limp reraise to about $8 at $50 nl i get called very often by i would assume AK, because they fold when the flop is low and i bet.

I'm obviously not check/folding so i had to bet. The reason i didn't open push is I figured if one of them was feel extra aggressive (dumb?) maybe they might think they could fold me if they pushed in with AK or 33 or something.

Its pretty bad if you are only limp reraising AA/KK. Even the dumbest opponent can determine your range. It's not bad in general to limp-rr but you have to do it with weaker hands sometimes if you don't want to alert everyone at the table what you are holding.

This is played perfectly once you limp preflop.

[/ QUOTE ]This is only true if your opponents adjust correctly to this range. If they accurately put you on AA/KK and then still call unprofitably, it doesn't really hurt you to only be doing this with that limited range.

I realize that's absurd, but I've found people call l/r a lot more often at 50NL than 100NL. In fact, 100NL seems so nitty against limp raises (or maybe over agro over limpers), that it seems it's profitable to limp with suited aces and suited connectors UTG with a plan to re-raise if raised from LP.

It may just be small sample size, but I've found l/r to be a much better move at 100NL than 50NL.

[/ QUOTE ]This would also be how a set miner would respond to a l/r- there are plenty of people at 50NL who will not fold a chance to hit a set even if they are not getting a reasonable price.

Yeah I was speaking from 100NL perspective. People do call limp-rr more at 50NL in my experience, but I still think its important getting in the habit to make certain moves with a wider range of hands.
