Re: Aces on drawheavy board
This is a tough spot readless, but that board is such a set, two-pair, and straight minefield (especially after your near PSB got called on the flop) that I suspect folding is best. It's doubtful that the queen changed anything, but you are losing to 44-99, 9x got there, 6x probably made two-pair, and Villain did put in a pretty good sized bet on the river. The thing with these micro players (on Stars anyway) is that many of them bet smallish when they're bluffing and make it easy to call. Annoyingly, they also bet smallish when trapping, which makes things murky sometimes, but it seems like big bets tend to be the goods unless the player in question is short-stacked or on tilt.
That said, at the table I would probably find some excuse to pay off (which might not go much deeper than, "I have aces, dammit, and that turn check-through did invite a bluff"). |

Re: Aces on drawheavy board
but isn't this what pot control is all about? Checking the turn makes him want to bet the river. You kept the pot small. I call and don't care if I win or lose.
