Default 5/10 JJ vs. Shorty

5/10 Home game, everyone has around 30-75bb's (we just upped to blinds recently from 2/5 to 5/10). Mostly a bunch of tournament players. *My opponent is a very good player.

My image is tight/weak, but i c-bet alot.

9 players
effective stacks ~ 500.00
My hand: JhJd

Villain makes to 30.00 in medium postion; I make it 100 to go in late... all folds, villain calls.

At this point I put him on AA/KK, TT,99,88, AQ/AK,AJs; Maybe 77 or KQs. I feel like he would have pushed preflop with QQ-JJ for sure, and AKs.

FLOP: A35 (2 hearts) POT: ~210.00

He check, and I bet 150. He then check raises all in for 400.00.

Would you call here?

Kinda important to tell us if the ace is a heart or not.

I dont care its a fold.

And the structure is ridiculous you guys must love you some donkaments....push call stack push call stack....why not just play a donkament?

I don't understand why you bet without a plan. In fact you say you are tournament players - this sounds exactly like a tournament situation with blinds, bet sizes, etc...I check back on the flop a lot of the time. Having bet 150 I fold here 95 % of the time.

Hello, thanks for the responses.

My plan was to bet/fold, and i did. Agreed that was the right play?

Check/Behind, bet on turn if he checks, is an alternate play I assume?

These ring games spur up after people have busted out of the tournament. We would usually be playing a tournament otherwise.

The only reason you should bet the flop is if you call a shove.

I agree.
Check behind to induce bluffs. You also have backdoor fd.
If you bet-call the flop, you probably getting the money in bad.

If you are this keen on taking JJ to the river no matter what falls wouldnt a larger PF bet be in order?

Jeeves,

Please reread my advice to you in your '5/10 QQ thread'. All of your posts are very similar and deal with some basic fundamental concepts that are either foreign to you or you just don't/can't comprehend them.

Good luck.
