Default Heavenly Sword is pretty sweet

I rented Heavenly Sword a couple days ago and I'm on the last chapter. Playing through it has been pretty fun. The game looks great, the backgrounds are amazing and the character animation is very well done. The character who plays Gollum in LotR plays the antagonist, King Bohan. I was watching some of the special features in the game and the way they animate all the characters faces is through motion capture with a [censored] load of reflectors all over the actors faces. The amount of work put into capturing all the emotion really shows in this game.

The fighting is fun, not as good as God of War, but still good and it looks and sounds amazing. Some of the boss fights can be a bit repetitive and dull (wait for boss to do X, than do Y until dead) but overall I think anyone who owns a PS3 should give this a play-through.

I wouldn't advocate buying it though, as I can't see how this game would have much replay value. Definitely a renter.

i'm up to the part where i have to save the father by guiding the arrows at the enemies running on the bridge to kill him. i'm not very good with controlling stuff with the six axis, so it was frustrating and i stopped playing for a little bit.

but the game is pretty sweet.
