This is [censored]. If one of these racers suddenly died or got injured right before racing there is no way they'd let you have your bet back. If they are going to start doing this then we MUST be able to take our bets back on all sports or whatever when we obtain new knowledge like injuries as long as this takes place before the event occurs. As of today i've made my last bet there.

[/ QUOTE ]

Of course if a racer died you would get your money back. I am sure there are rules that state Racers must start for action. It happens all the time in golf. If a player withdraws before the start, then bets on him and against him are refunded.

Are the people who bet the bad lines after the event happenned getting their money back as well? (As in, if someone didn't know that the player had been disqualified, and bet on them, after the disqualification, is their bet being cancelled and their money refunded?) If yes, then this is a fair policy. If no, then this is not.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the people who bet the disqualified riders (after they were disqualified) will get their money back also.

Of course, many sportsbooks would let your wager stand. But, many others would do the same as WSEX, especially considering this is not a mainstream event. The real question is whether or not WSEX voided all wagers on the Tour? Even those placed before the disqualifications.

I would like to point out the "bad line" rule in sportsbetting is often misunderstood/misinterpreted not only by gamblers but by sportsbooks themselves. Most gamblers would argue that in this case the line was not "bad", WSEX was simply too slow to take their lines off the board, once drastically new information surfaced. A better example of a true bad line is when a book has Houston -10 over Pittsburgh. This is an obvious bad line as it should simply be +10 rather than -10.

Seems like a fair policy then.
