I give up and check. If he c/c the flop and then c/c THIS turn, I don't see you getting many folds on this river.

I think a bet has merit since he could easily have the flush draw or a weak made hand that will be convinced of your strength by a river bet. If you get called here and showdown air that isn't exactly bad either.

I think in this spot when I've decided to fire a second barrel I've also decided to fire on a blank river. Obviously there are times you need to wimp out, but this doesn't need to be one of them.

I also don't play this level so my advice might not be applicable.

i agree but lets say villan doesnt have a flush. its a very interesting metagame situation. what are the odds of getting a fold possibly?

this situation pretty much blows on the surface and i rarely make these plays unless there is motivation on my part.........but when i disclose the villan's holding's, there will be more understanding of why i posted this hand in the first place.

its an interesting hand in my opinion. something of value for all.

ummmm, the turn completes a flush. idk if you noticed. your advice is always applicable. thanks. you had the same thoughts as i did. possibly you are right though, considering my "level" thinking at these stakes.

yeah i thought the turn was blank. A bet wins this often, though, but lower stakes people don't fold flushes as much as they might.

yeah but the villan is snap calling me on the flop and turn......as if he is just playing give up poker........no thinking. he's just playing his hand and he wants to get it over with quick.

i just know he doesnt have a flush, but i have the feeling he's not going to fold the river.......no matter what........thats the problem.......but even so, a pot size river bet has got to make even the dumbest players think for a second.

i have witnessed live plays in the past that were played at 5th level thinking. i tell people some of the stories and they always say, "how can they fold for just one more bet, thats rediculous". but they dont understand the psychology involved. getting 17/1 to make a call doesnt mean anything if you are postive by the way the action came off......that you are beat........fold.......and then your shown jack high.
