Book Suggestion: Book Specific to Pot-Limit Omaha/8 ?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, to learn pot-limit Omaha/8, you can mostly only read sources on Limit Omaha/8, Pot-limit Omaha high and then extrapolate. (I am excluding mention, of course, of small sections about pot-limit Omaha/8 in any books that are primarily on other forms of Omaha).

Does anyone know if anybody is planning a book specific to pot-limit Omaha/8? I would estimate that pot-limit Omaha/8 is a form that is currently growing in popularity.

I doubt you will see any PL08 books anytime soon as very few people play the game. I don't think I have ever heard of the game being regularly spead in a B&M room and there are not too many games online once you get past the micros. Add on the fact that nobody knows how much business online rooms are going to lose because of the recent US legislation and I just can't see such a book being very profitable for a publisher right now.

There is however a small chapter on PL08 in No Limit & Pot Limit Poker.

Well you are probably right (for the most part), however in my area (Vancouver, BC Canada), Pot Limit Omaha/8 is part of our upcoming 3-event provincial championship:

No Limit Texas Hold’em event $2,500 buy-in (Main event)
Pot Limit Texas Hold’em event $1,000 buy-in
Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Split$ 1,000 buy-in

There is not much information on PLO8 in book form. Ciaffone and Cappelletti each have a tiny bit, but nothing very good. Steve Badger has a decent site with an OK strategy. It is a bit weak tight for the current online atmosphere but it will keep you out of trouble while you are just learning.

Play a little. Use twodimes to figure out the odds of some common flop match ups (two pair vs. AA + low draw, set vs. nut low draw + nut flush draw, etc.). Think about how to play hands. When I was learning how to play I used to write down every big pot match up and then go to twodimes and replay it street by street to come up with the best plays for each hand. I still do this on occasion when a very interesting hand comes up.

Omaha High/Low is almost always played Pot Limit in the UK and most of Europe. It is a very popular game throughout Europe.

Please remember that the world, poker or otherwise, does NOT revolve around the US.
