I just spoke to Mat on the phone and he basically explained that the lawyers did not want their language on the forums.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this, but the basic nature of the arrangement was:

$ ... AP -> 2p2 -> Lawyers & Co

So while 2p2 would receive the fee and hire the lawyers officially, the source of the funds would ultimately be AP. 2p2 was not going to take a profit in the matter. And the bill to AP would be significant, but the lawyers would be independent (I guess) in that they were hired and technically being paid by 2p2.

That is not an official statement from 2p2 on the matter, so please don't construe it as such.

We'll have more to say tomorrow. I realize this looks sketchy, and I apologize for that. But I just am not at liberty to say anything without legal consult.

I assure you that a) Two Plus Two Publishing LLC has not and will not stand to profit from any investigation of Absolute Poker.

b) Our only interest in this matter, really, is to help with discovery of truth and ultimately to further the goals of poker players. Making sure places are honest etc...
