Lee,
has pokerstars ever considered going above and beyond the KGC for an 'official' audit and seal on their site?

It seems the info coming out about the KGC is pretty light on the oversight. I understand many large firms back away from full audits of online gambling sites, but I'm sure there must be some out there that would be willing to do it and lend even more respectability to the games and management at Stars.

As to Absolute Entertainment SA being the banking agent - I assume Mr Norton owns that company. SA is the same thing as our Inc., I think, and it's easy to buy shares. The name stays the same, but the shareholders are different. The news reports about Blast Off a year ago are not now tracked by the statements on the web sites of the two poker sites, nor does Blast Off appear in the statement recently issued. Some have said that Blast Off is owned by Russ Hamilton, and on that basis have said that Mr Hamilton is the real Mr Big - but those reports were later retracted here. The Blast Off connection is based on news reports of status a year ago, and contradicts more recent information. So I doubt that means there is now a real, hidden Blast Off owner lurking. But I could be wrong.

I don't see any reason to assume Norton owns Absolute Entertainment. SA means sociedad anonyme implying a level of privacy. Can't say I know much about business law in Costa Rica, but I'm guessing from digging around a bit that they don't file public records like an Inc. would.

IIRC from my research, Russ Hamilton started a tournament blackjack company that was affiliated with Ultimate Bet. He had involvement with Excapsa due to that. It's possible he sold all of his shares prior to the Blast Off acquisition, or in the year since then, but if not he would currently still be a stakeholder.

Someone in the "trip" thread mentioned that, to their thinking, the 'Big4' accounting firms would not want to be associated with AP, and would never do a audit, even if paid to do it. So, what audit firm could come in and perform this miracle to satisfy everyone? To quote Alan Rickman's character in 'Die Hard', "You want a miracle? I give you the FBI!" Seriously, the FBI probably has more forensic audtiors in their employ than any of the Big 4 accounting firms if not all of them. And they specialize in this kind of audit. All that would be required is the CR government put in a request and they might even get the US government to cover the cost of it. In my opinion, this is the most sure method to get to the truth.

OK time for me to step into this debate.

Some info about Joe Norton and his link to AP

You can find text about some KGC rules here:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/ga...etcasinos.html

‘Because of rules requiring that Mohawks own all businesses on-reserve, the commission set up Mohawk Internet Technologies to operate the online casino business. MIT operates a server farm on the reserve, and offers space on the servers to online casino operators. MIT collects a monthly fee from the casino operators.’

This means that to be able to be hosted on the Indian Reserve you need to be own by an indian which will charge you a fee ($$$). I actual fact Joe Norton does not have much other to do with AP other than to provide a hosting service and yeah some security for the customers as well.

An audit company normally checks the orderliness of certain processes in business related matters on the basis of any provisions or regulations. They normally have also certain guidelines like general accepted principles where their audit is based on. If you read a normal audit report they always say it was not the scope of our audit to find any fraud. And this is a caveat which corresponds to their external liability with respect to shareholders or banks etc. An audit company can also enligthen fraud. But this can only be done on the basis of a special full scope audit where the goal of the audit is to investigate all related facts arround all possible deceits.

This is the first post I see about the credibility of the KGC and it is appropriate to bring this up. Living in Quebec I know a bit about those guys (the Mohawks of Kahnawake) and in my mind the Mafia/Mob is in there. So the people hosting the servers and providing the rules and regulation is the Mafia/Mob or a variation of it. Most native/Mohawks however are just normal people but a few in there are bad seeds.

Basically in 1990 there was a standoff between the Mohawks and the Provincial Police and then the Canadian Army that intervene later. In the end the Indians 'won' and the Army withdrew basically because of international pressures and appearances (The Canadians were seen like they were mistreating the native people). Guess what, the mafia/mob noticed and started using a few of the Indians to use the Native front to do illegal activities in the face of the authorities.

Now the RCMP and Provincial Police have stated many times that the gambling servers and activities in Khanawake are illegal but the political will was not there to do anything about it because of past experiences. This AP scandal may just be the excuse they needed to get in there and shut it all down…

A few links to substantiate my claims for those who care, and one last thought; I personally think that the AP scandal is just the tip of the Iceberg.

IMO the credibilty of the KGC can only be achieved if the KGC is controlled by a independent organization (like for example the eCOGRA). And their are a lot of further requirements to cean up the mess.

Well, that's a good reason why Nat should not go to CR imo.
