Default 50NL: AQo from MP; did I overplay top pair?

The only read I had on this player was that he had raised only one hand in twenty at the table. I guess I just really didn't have a plan for the hand after I decided to three bet on the flop. Should I have seen that he had AA or QQ after he checkraised?

I dont like the flop 3 bet at all, and if youre going to do that, then I have no idea why you checked turn. My default here is to just call him down after he raises. The board is dry so there is really nothing to protect against an there are almost no bad cards for your hand. Youre either WA/WB.

Agreed with profish. You gain much more value if you check/call all the way after the raise. If you 3bet him, it chases away people who you have beat while it gives money to people who beat you.

Yeah,

Makes no sense to check the turn after 3 betting the flop. Seems like you're basically putting him on Q10?

On this dry of a board, there is no reason to 3 bet.

call the flop instead of betting. call the river. Seems like this raise folds away worse Q's, while it pays off 2pr, sets
