I like The Shield, but if I had to pick what I think is the greatest show of all time, then its definitely Seinfeld.

Seinfeld is greater than any other sitcom and it isn't even close.

If we define the greatest of all time as the show with the best worst episode then there is no question. The worst episode of AD is still hilarious. If it is adding up total humor then it is hard to beat The Simpsons. But I don't think I have ever laughed as hard as I have from TV as I have from AD, Curb your Enthusiasm is probably second. I know this is somewhat controversial but I think Seinfeld has aged terribly and may not be considered great in 20 more years. If AD is not considered brilliant in 20 years I don't think I want to live that long.

AD has a ton of timely jokes that will make no sense in 5 years, much less 20.

Seinfeld has not aged terribly imo, although things like the soup nazi are super lame. Curb has kind of made the first few seasons irrelevant but they were doing some awesome, wacky, arrested development style [censored] by the end of that show

AD was cancled becauase it is tv for people who don't watch tv. Lots of stars doing cameos and huge outdoor sets caused it to be over-budget, and not enough people who watch tv appreciate the quality of the humor. Reality TV FTL.
