Re: Finding Chips On The Floor
Any time a casino refuses to cash chips, call gaming. If you have the chips, the casino has to cash them. MGM has a reputation for not cashing chips of suspected AP blackjack players. Once gaming is called, they basically slap the casino on the hand and order them to cash the chips. If you continue to have problems, get a gaming lawyer. Bob Nesarian comes to mind.

Re: Finding Chips On The Floor
[ QUOTE ]
semi-related i suppose: last time i was in vegas i was staying at paris. i bought in for cash of approx $1000 a few different times at various games (whether i still had chips from my previous buy in or not). i think over the course of 4 days i had bought in for about $5K. when i was ready to leave i had $6.5K in chips and they gave me a really really hard time cashing out. they called the last pit i was at - were told i bought in for 1K, left with 1.5K, yada yada, the cage starting saying they weren't going to pay me. of course i flipped out and started yelling (i have a short temper when it comes to screwing me out of money that is rightfully mine). i was screaming that its not like i won 20k or something - i bought in for 5, was cashing out for 6.5...in the end i got money of course, but it took about 45 minutes and i had to stand there and suffer the embarrasment of being treated like a criminal to get money, 85% of which was mine before i walked into the damn place. [/ QUOTE ]that's some pretty sick stuff they are pulling. wtf? suppose you don't want to use a players card. suppose you want to get in a few hands of BJ before dinner and just plop your money down. suppose there has been a shift change at the last pit. suppose it was extremely busy that day and they don't remember you. are they allowed to just hassle you like that. suppose you walk up to the cage and buy $5000 worth of chips but then change your mind about playing. 3 days later you go to cash them out and their is no record of you playing at a table game. are these scumbags allowed to steal your money? |

suppose you walk up to the cage and buy $5000 worth of chips [/ QUOTE ] This generally isn't permitted unless you are in the poker room. If you buy in over $3k they have a record of it. If you don't give them any ID they are supposed to write down a description of what you look like, so tell them where you got the chips and it shouldn't be a problem. I am not saying this is right, I am just saying if you truly bought the chips cashing them shouldn't be a problem. |

[/ QUOTE ] The bellagio did this to me a couple of years ago. It was very irritating to be asked for my players card and then be told that I have not been gambling enough to have the amount of chips I was cashing out. I believe it was about 4K. They called over a supervisor and everything. Once I explained that I was just paid out from a poker tournament they looked up my name on the entrants list and let me cash out (took about 15 minutes). It was very late at night and I was already pissed about just getting bounced from the tournament and I almost lost it on them. |

Re: Finding Chips On The Floor
I would have the casino announce it on the loudspeaker so whoever lost it gets it back.
Reminde me of a time a guy I know got home and realized he had dropped a c-note in the parking lot of the grocery store he'd just left. He actually drove back like it was gonna be there waiting for him on the ground. |

Jimbo [/ QUOTE ] It's not inaccurate. What I stated is accurate. Contact Vegas attny Bob Nersesian for the legal explanation. Show me where it's written in the laws that a Vegas casino can legally refuse to cash chips. I'd like to see that. Do you have a link? |
