KQ: another preflop kill hand question
4/8 kill game, the kill is on and the killer is Big Blind. He is fairly LAG pre and on the flop and will usually defend here with any two, even if it gets capped.
Rest of the table is loose passive of varying degrees. Average 5-7 to the flop, maybe 4-5 when it gets raised. Not many 3-bets so I can't estimate what would happen. Hero has KQo UTG, it's already "$16 to call". Decision? What is your range of hands to 3-bet ? Are there any you coldcall with? |

Re: KQ: another preflop kill hand question
I'm tighter than most, so not professing to be an expert, but I'd fold that UTG. KQs a tougher choice though.. if live, it would depend on how many players still had their hand near their cards after looking at them. I'd probably call w/ AK, (s or o), any pair JJ or lower, and raise AA, KK, QQ. Feel free to tell me if I'm off base.

Re: KQ: another preflop kill hand question
KQo doesnt play strong enough to play UTG at a full table, regardless of the kill.

Re: KQ: another preflop kill hand question
Can you explain why it is $16 to you? If you are UTG and the kill is on the BB, it should just be $8 to you? If the pot was raised in front of you I would fold, KQo doesnt play well enough against a raise in this situation, esp. since in my experience, tables often tighten up on the kill hands.

Re: KQ: another preflop kill hand question
This is a hand I used to play UTG in my Pre-SSHE and pre 2+2 days but I am more apt to fold more of these non suited broadways a lot more than I used to in very early positions. Took me a while of playing and reading to figure out that a hand like this OOP can be a tough one to play.
