Re: Most shocking/unbelievable finishes you saw
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] No one has mentioned the Bills comeback against the Oilers early 90's. It was 28 to 3 at half time, Frank Lloyd Wright subbing for Jim Kelly throws an interception early in the 3rd quarter thats returned for a TD to make it 35 to 3. From there the Bills score 35 unanswered points and Warren Moon has to drive the Oilers in the wanning moments for a tying FG. The Bills win it in overtime. [/ QUOTE ] Not to be a dick, but wow. That's not even close. [/ QUOTE ] His work has inspired many. Frank Lloyd Wright |

Re: Most shocking/unbelievable finishes you saw
[ QUOTE ]
How is this better than Reggie Miller in the playoffs, other than it's not -- 8 pts in 9 seconds to win the game including stealing the ball himself? How is this better than Marvin O'Connor scoring 19 points in the final <1 minute to beat La Salle? Yes, 19. Naj [/ QUOTE ] I agree that Miller's was more important because of playoffs, but I prefer McGrady's because it included a true buzzer beater. |

Cal/Stanford 1982 when they had 8 laterals on the last play of the game and ran through the marching-band to get to the end-zone for the winning score. Sound familiar?? [/ QUOTE ] Thanks Bob. Kevin Moen spiking the ball on the trombone player looks very familiar. |

[ QUOTE ] By "shocking," I would have to add Mike Tyson biting Evander Holyfield's ears off. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, this is probably the winner. [/ QUOTE ] Not even 1/10th as shocking as Buster Who knocking Iron Mike the [censored] out. |

Re: Most shocking/unbelievable finishes you saw
How about Laettner at the buzzer against Kentucky?
One that I thought of while browsing this thread was a meaningless game in I believe 1994. It was Eagles/Bengals in the last game of the season, and both teams were way out of the playoff picture. Jeff Blake leads the Bengals on a crazy last second drive for a FG to tie the game, converting a few 4th downs along the way. I think he converted like a 4th and 20 by scrambling for the first down. So it's now tied with like 8 seconds left, and the Bengals squib kick it to the Eagles, who just fall on the ball...EXCEPT, the Eagles guy muffs it, and the Bengals recover with 1 or 2 seconds left. They bring on Pelfrey and he kicks a 55 yard FG to win the game, and they carry Tim Krumrie off the field in his last game. I'm not even a Bengals fan, but it was still pretty insane to watch. |
