Default Writer\'s Strike

Surprised there hasn't been a thread about this yet. The WGA (Writer's Guild of America), which apparently is responsible for most of the content on TV, had their contract expire with the networks on Nov 1, and they haven't been able to reach a new one.

I don't really have any opinion about this since I am not familiar with the industry at all, but this sounds like a big deal. Anyone know what the specific issues are and some potential scenarios going forward?

There's a fairly interesting Lounge thread about this.
