Default Live Poker for the 6max Online Pro

I have been playing online (under iRockhoes and saugustine) for about a year now at higher stakes (25/50+) and almost exclusively 6max, with hu being my favorite. I am not a 20 tabler or anything, with 4 being usually my max. With online poker drying up compared to how it used to be, I am thinking of playing live more at some of the bigger casinos once I graduate this May. The small percent I have played live, I have experienced long waiting lists, 9 or 10 handed, and about 4 hands per hour. I was wondering how some of the online guys who play live adjust between the two. I find myself bored as hell unless there are some really live players or interesting people at my table. When I'm bored I play awful. Is there any way any of the online pros have found to stay interested at the table or has the internet ruined my attention span forever? All thoughts welcomed.

Pay attention and play short sessions. When you are playing full ring, you are obviously not involved in a high percentage of the pots. And when you compound that with the fact that you're used to playing multiple tables, you get very little action. It is important to maximize the opportunities that you get. So try to really focus on each hand. Always look left before you act to get a read on the players yet to act. And try to put everyone on hands even when you're not involved. See how well you do. Live, you can get such great reads if you pay attention, you should be able to crush the games if you're beating equivalent stakes online and you pay attention and don't donk around live.

though it is much less action then playing online it is actually more entertaining at times. You aren't just stuck in front of your computer by yourself staring at a screen. You have some interaction with people, meet people, develop sort of "friendships" with people in live games.

Also, it deosnt hurt that a live 10 20 nl game is more than likely softer then a 2 4 nl game online.

Can make a lot of money playing live... that helps to keep it interesting.

Wait do people actually use PSPs when they're playing live poker? I've never heard of this.

I've often wondered if this is the reason for the disparity between live pros playing style and the general online style. Seems to me, that most live pros have a much higher delta between their VPIP and PFR than do online players with few exceptions.

While this could just be due to an inherent difference in thought process between those attracted to online poker and those who like B&M, it may also be due to 'evolutionary' factors such as adjusting to a significantly reduced number of hands per hour by playing more pots while adjusting to the bordom level of other players in the game which will likely mean several players to a flop.

Meh, maybe, maybe not - but I was wondering about underlying causes for differences between the two styles the other day, and thought this might be one of the intangible aspects.

........in other news today, man rambles for hours about nothing.........more to come.
