Default Another 5/10 on line hand

FullTilt; been at table about 5 orbits. Villian is 40/16/3 for ~150 hands. Seen villian check raise flops and turns with draws and made hands (even marginal made hands). Hero is otb with QQ.

PF: villian opens in MP2, hero 3-bets, villian calls

Flop: T64r villian c/c

Turn: K (completing rainbow), villian checks, hero?

Check behind on the turn; call any river.

Why do we want to bet the turn? Indeed...

1) There aren't that many free cards which beat us.
2) The pot isn't that large.
3) He may simply fold a hopeless hand which is way behind.
4) He may jump at the chance to c/r with a hand that either is way ahead or has at least some outs to pull ahead.
5) He is aggressive enough to bet the river when we check
behind on the turn.

And do what if he c/r? (Assuming he just doesn't fold.)

I agree with chesspain.

Against aggressive opponents like this, the "turn value check" is usually the way to go. I would bet in a larger pot or if the opponent was more passive.

The value we may miss by not betting the turn is largely offset by the times Villain will bluff at the river with hands that would have folded to our turn bet.

My first instinct was to bet but chesspain made a great argument here.

He has 7 outs a lot here. Are we really calling if an A comes on the river?

Yes. I think villains stats justify that, but it's close.

There's no way I'm folding.
