Live 3/6, kill pot. I'm the killer in the big blind with black aces. Four calls PF, I raise my option.
Flop comes K6K rainbow. Checks around to the button, who bets $6. What's our plan?
a) fold
b) c/c it to the river. The pot's big.
c) bet
d) c/r

I hate that flop and betting into 4 OOP but I think its much better than checking.

I don't think you should have checked this flop. I'd bet for value and protection of your vulnerable hand. As played, I'd raise for value and protection. Interesting situation in that any hand behind yours is drawing very slim, but no sense letting them draw for free or cheap when they will pay. And the more people still in the hand, the more hands drawing slim to catch you and the greater chance you have of losing.

checking this flop is awful. c/f is really absolutely terrible.

either c/r or c/c, im fine with either. c/c may be more +EV in the long run if you're against an aggressive player who will bet all streets with a worse hand and considering that anyone who calls is drawing very thin (if behind). if not you should go for a CR.

Count, you gotta bet and let other people put you on AK as a possibility. You can c/r this flop if you want to try to freeze the turn by checking. However, if you do not have much of a history of c/r'ing, other players shouldn't let you get away with this. The fact that it checked to the Button is favorable. No folding allowed.

i should clarify that "as played," C/R or C/C is fine. but you shouldnt have checked in the first place.

btw some of your posts suggest MUBS...is this is a trend for you? do you always check this flop w/o a K?

I forgot to mention that the button is a horrible luckbox donkey who'd shown down TPs with weak kickers, middle and bottom pairs, etc. repeatedly and was harder to shake than the clap. So while your advice to have others put me on AK is sound beyond question, it assumes that we face a rational actor.

what is this referring to, your decision to check the flop?

or the belief that betting lets others put you on AK so they all fold?

or do you believe that if a flop bet makes everyone fold that thats a good thing? (btw they wont fold)

I checked because I wanted to see what the donkey would do. My read on him was that I knew he'd only bet with KK on the board if he had a K.. and that he'd never fold it, because he only knows that he has trip Ks and the thought of what I might have would never enter his mind.

The flop was about as bad for AA as it can get, so I didn't feel that coming out blazing was going to shake the donkey, and if he bet out I'd know I was in trouble.
