River Fold? $200NL on PP
I just played this hand a few mins ago on PP at the $200NL level. My opponent is an unknown (only logged about 15 hands against him). As you can see I Folded to his reRaise on the River. Despite having a straight, my thinking is that I am only beating a Bluff at this point. The obvious Flush came in on the Turn and the River card paired the Turn card giving the villain a possible full house. Does anyone have a radically different take on this scenario and/or any comments on my bet sizes (they were meant to be blocking/info bets)? cheers

Re: River Fold? $200NL on PP
Bet 15 on turn. For your river blocking bet, at least 18-20 - I usually would go for 20, then fold to raise. As played, I fold river too, but your bets for info are easily exploitable bc you haven't bet enough. They all look like VERY scared bets, which they were, but you don't want him to know that.

Re: River Fold? $200NL on PP
Raise this preflop from the cutoff. The flop is fine but bet 13-15 on the turn. I think check calling the river is better than betting 8 and folding to a raise, although betting like 3/5 pot and folding to a raise is good too as I dont think an unknown is bluff raising frequently on this river if you are making reasonable bets. Your river bet looks like you have a junky hand that wants a cheap showdown and your just asking to get raised by practically any two there.

Re: River Fold? $200NL on PP
Bet more on turn, bet more on river fold to raise. As played fold river.
Why were you betting so small on turn and river? That river bet is terrible as it screams weakness. |

Re: River Fold? $200NL on PP
I'd probably raise pre flop.
Flop looks good, but bet more on turn $15ish sounds about right. River is nasty looking, I probably check and meybe call a reasonable sized bet. A blocking bet might work I dunno, but as played fold to the raise. |

Re: River Fold? $200NL on PP
As others have said, raise pre if you're going to play this hand at all.
More on the turn and I'm probably checking the riv if he calls. |
