Circa 2004 Pacific had the best game at every limit on the internet. Sometimes it was like a play money game. Ah, I miss those days.

I agree with this. Not letting people multitable created an insane fish pond. I wish more poker sites would do this.

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but what is the correlation to allowing people to multitable reduces the fish?

It doesnt reduce the actual number of fish, but dilutes the proportion of fish due to multitablers generally being better players.

the lower games are still juicy. 5/10 > 15/30. Why do they keep half a mil on the site? I would guess 100k would be enough for that game.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's because you can only withdraw 10k per month from the site. To withdraw up to 20k you have to go through contortions with Pacific support.

[/ QUOTE ]

so when they decide to quit playing on the site they cant get their money out?. What kinda stupid rule is that..you should have complete control over your funds.

Yeah Doosh and I have had some sick battles. He's one of the best players on that site.

It's sad but Pacific went from by far the juiciest site to one of the worst. A combination of adding big stakes and multi-tabling at the same time killed the fish pond.

[/ QUOTE ]

One of the first times I played there, probably 2005, I sat down and started playing at a cash table and I literally checked a few times to make sure I wasnt at a play money table, it was that good.

I was so hyped when they first allowed 3 tables but it was crazy how rapidly the games deteriorated.

I miss ya old school Pac

Actually, they raised their withdrawal limits to 30,000 / month. It's 10K, but then if you send them a copy of your passport, blood & semen samples and notarized promises to fellate them every other Tuesday, you can get up to 30K. But you're absolutely right: it's retarded, and i've been through the issue about a dozen times with them via email that it's disingenuous to offer high-stakes games, and not allow people to manage a sufficient bankroll for them. Those guys w/ 400K on the site will not be able to withdraw their entire bankrolls for nearly 12 months.

They claim it has something to do w/ anti-money laundering provisions. I pointed out repeatedly that they're the only site on the net with ANYthing like that. I browbeat them on this issue until they finally wrote me an email (polite, but firm) telling me that they weren't changing it, and I should drop the issue as they will not respond to further email inquiries on the subject.

Yea, I remember one guy who used VMWare to play 6 tables at Pacific, lol. He claimed that the games were the best he'd ever seen, including soft live games.

Pacific had the best NLH games online and possibly the best games period right up until US players got kicked off, and they are still decent now. Just mere months ago I was getting all in preflop with KTo vs K4o for 2k stacks at 10/20. I really hate the United States of America.
