Default Really quick question

Hey, I just got poker-tracker, and I see that my VPIP is pretty high compared to most regulars that I am at the table with. I want to know if anyone has the link the datamine link to Antonius, Ivey... etc. I think highstakes DB posted it? It is a very long and used to be popular thread.

Short answer: I don't have the link.

Less short answer: Trying to get an idea of where your VP$IP by comparing it to patrik antonius and phil ivey is probably a really bad idea.

dont compare your stats to ivey/god (PA)/etc.

typically tag stats are like 17-24 vpip/13-18 pfr/2+ af.

TY for the responses. However I have been playing a long time with a good profit, lag, at I believe a vpip of 42%. I play midstakes, but I knew I would be flamed there, similar to what happened here. I just want to see if any big winners have their vpip over 40% at 6 max, hence asking for the thread. TY for the responses!

my stats are quite a bit higher than a typical tag's (which i guess are the measuring block for a persons stats, but i don't really agree with this). if your post flop play is good enough to be a decent winner with a vpip of 42% you may find being more selective will make your winrate skyrocket

I remember a pic in BBV of a guy with more than 100k hands at midstakes 6max with a vpip around 60% with a very nice winrate.

that was faked...

i'm probably the loosest big winner that posts here. I vary my game a lot tho. If the table needs running over, I'm perfectly capable of playing 45/40, but I can play 21/17 too. I average out to 35/30 tho, and if you are consistently playing above 40% of your hands you are playing too loose

I will explain the story. I told my friend my stats, who runs 22/13, and he said my vpip was a huge leak. While I agree I play 8 10 suited a bit from the blinds too much, I believe my image of being in every pot tilts people, and as long as I can read a good amount of time when I am beat, I get actions on flushes and trips that others do not. However, the fact that SBrugby has a vpip of I think 25%, and CTS maybe an avg of 35%, leads me to believe that I also should cut it down. However, though vpip of 40% may be exploitable, I believe so is a vpip of 22%, especially against my image. I really do not want to cut down if I dont have to... though if I tighten my range in 2 way pots (fold BB 9 10 to cut off raise), maybe I can do it...

believe me, playing 35/30 is waaaay more tilt inducing than just calling with crap OOP all the time
