Default Marcel Luske + alcohol

I heard this while playing at Canterbury Park in MN where I live from a dealer who I trust and has no reason to embellish or lie to me (aka I didn't tell him I post on here so he wasn't trying to be the new NVG hero ). So while I heard this second hand, the dealer told it in vivid detail.

A few years ago, Luske was contracted to do some promo work for Canterbury and the WPT sponsored event they were promoting. I don't know exactly what he was supposed to do but the dealer said it was along the lines of meet and greet, give a short talk to some higher ups, schmooze, etc.

Anyways, the time he's supposed to arrive comes and goes. It's almost an hour after and finally Luske shows up...absolutely wasted. He's having trouble walking a straight line and is slurring his speech. His breath apparently reeked of liquor. CB management decides that it's probably not in their best interest to have this guy up at a podium or on stage giving a talk to people important to them (me: why not? I can see that being crazy entertaining) so they tell Luske that he won't be doing the promo appearance because he's not in any shape to do so.

I don't have specifics of how it was decided or how the contract was set up, but apparently since he could not fulfil his contractural obligations, CB makes the decison to not pay him.

Luske starts going apeshit and demands his money. His "people" (I assume manager/agent/etc.) are talking with CB to see if there's some kind of make good they can work out when someone reports to the floor that Luske is currently in the men's bathroom and is pissing all over the urinals and walls.

His people go in to get him and CB management tells them he's 86'ed from the place until further notice. Luske allegedly mumbles something about how he's "too good to even piss on a place like CB Park" as he's taken out.

The story doesn't end there. A while later, Michael Jordan (yes the Chicago Bulls one) is hosting a celebrity poker tournament partly sponsored by and held at Canterbury Park. On the list of celebs and pros he wants to appear is none other than Marcel Luske. CB management says no because Luske is still 86'ed from the place but Jordan pulls a power play and says if Luske can't appear, he'll consider pulling the whole tourmanent. Whether or not he was serious who knows, but it worked and CB management lets Luske back in.

This time he showed up stone cold sober and apparently was a "delight to work with". However, it was a little akward at first as when he showed up, he shook hands and schmoozed with the same management members who originally kicked him out.

The dealer told me from what he remembered and was told, the sober Luske was a hell of a nice guy and very engaging. After that, everyone pretty much just chalked it up to him drinking too much that day.

Let's spice the post up. Whatever happened with Luske's apparent and possibly disturbing penchant for taking young men under his wing as his p0ker students, and having them live with him at his house?

On a random side note, I won a local sattelite tourney for a free entry into the Jordan celebrity tourney. Something came up and I couldn't go so I sold my seat to a local banker I play a home game with. He went down there played the tourney, ended up taking second. Who did he lose to you ask?? Michael Jordan. He said when the tournament got to heads up Jordan went all in every single hand because all his winnings were going to charity either way. I wish I would of had the chance to play Jordan, oh well.

I've known Noah for a long time, and nothing is "disturbing" about this.
