visiting from chicago. i stopped in a ca poker room. playin at a 1 2 cash game, noticed that on duty staff were playin with the card room money. wtf! is this legel?

This is pretty standard in Sacramento area cardrooms. Thankfully most dealers and staff thoroughly suck at poker.

They are are paid salary or hourly wage and play on their own money. My understanding playing on house money is considered shilling and not legal in California. It was used in small games in Las Vegas but I don't thing it's often seen these days. ~ Rick |

I believe that in some cardrooms the dealers buy their tray and also toss their tokes into them. This is a bad idea since it rewards palming chips out of the pot into the tray.

say i was bluffing, theyre not sure to call me. they than remember it is not their money and call. maybe if it was their money, theyd think twice cause they dont want to lose their money.
