Too agressive?
I seem to be in a bit of a downswing lately, Im trying to find out if I'm going too far with some hands. Is this one of them?

Re: Too agressive?
I'm not sure you quite went into the realm of too aggressive here against an unknown. Perhaps you did. I'd be interested to hear what others think...
I think betting out at the flop is good here. However, I'm not sure I'd take it to 3-bets against the PF raiser in this situation. Given the action on the preceding streets, the turn and river value bets seem okay IMO. However, I think the value is quite thin. I think he'll have a better hand than you a lot of the time when he calls that river... |

Re: Too agressive?
I think you played the right way. it is very likely that you have the best hand. I wouldn´t make it 3 bets though because the bb raised preflop. It is a close decision between calling and betting on the flop. the rest is pretty standard play.

Re: Too agressive?
I think you need to c/r the flop instead of donking.

I actually like your line here.

Re: Too agressive?
I like a preflop raise.
The way you played it I think leading the flop and hoping the bb raises to protect your hands edges out a check raise. I would call down from there. I don't like risking the free card on the turn but I don't want to pay off a raise and I wouldn't feel comfortable folding in this situation. |

Re: Too agressive?
I usually check/call the river here...hard to believe he's paying off with AK after the flush draw hit, and not a lot of people are raising pocket pairs <JJ from the BB. Check/calling might, however, induce a bluff from AK with one spade or something like that, or get a scared overpair to give you a free showdown.

Agree. If BB raises the flop he's more likely to be protecting his hand rather than yours. [/ QUOTE ] I would raise that flop bet with overcards all day long, especially if I'm holding a high spade. I drool at the chance to isolate on the only player at the table I have position on here. |

Re: Too agressive?
Hero shouldn't be betting out without a pair. And even if I did agree with that tactic, BB is unknown so I don't see a reason to assume he's going to raise with overcards when the more common pattern is to raise Jx or better and call most worse hands.
