Default VPIP ~16. help me loosen up a bit!

edit: this is plo8, average table looseness i'm talking about

i haven't been able to comfortably get my VPIP higher than about 16. i hear more like 20 or even a bit higher is optimal, so i'm curious what sort of hands i'm missing out on that you guys like. i really don't like playing any hands without an ace in it, pretty much the only exception is 3 wheel cards if i have good position and at least one suited.

should i be playing more big pairs? hands like kk23 even just seem weak to me, since if no ace comes down you usually lose the low and if an ace comes down you lose the high, and regardless of what happens you can't play confidently unless you hit a freak flop.

also, what about hands like kkqjs? i fold those too, just seems like not enough of a high.

i also fold weaker a2s and aas, hands like a27tr and aa7tr
