Isn't the first hand a mandatory river raise?

[/ QUOTE ]

Only on AP?

If you caught any clean card lower than a Jack you'd be raising, so why admit you didn't? There's a steak dinner and drinks in the pot.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah but if he didn't fold JJ on 4th he's not folding the river. He also never B/F streets, only C/F them sometimes when he started w/ a hidden bad hand he would turn passive fairly quickly.

-ChipsAhoya

[/ QUOTE ]

chips - its really close between folding and raising. If you think he will fold just 24% of the time then a raise is the correct choice. If not then I agree that folding is correct.

Hand 2 why are you raising 4th with 987

[/ QUOTE ]

Because I'm a 60/40 favorite and my board is extremely better than his.

tell us about the opponent, I think that swings my decisions between "spew" and "whew!"

Oops I thought this referred to 5th. I'm still a favorite though. I imagine limping into a 9 and a K means he's pretty weak, but even if not (trying to LRR or something here maybe) I'm still 53%...

Villain was just an awful player... He lost $1000 in ~50 hands betting and raising what seemed to be randomly (R/R w/ the J on 3rd, raising w/ the QT2 in the other hand up there, raising T33Q vs. someone w/ 765? out) just awful stuff...

uh no. If the player with 4t showing has (8-7-) under you are 54/46 advantage. This is an edge, but given equity swings three betting seems aggressive.

True, but villain is insane, so I'm going to get the money in esp. if the worst it can be as is a 53/47 favorite.

Thanks for posting these Chips. I just lost $60 - nothing compared to you but significant to a micro player - through hands just like these. On different tables in less than an hour.

I guess it happens everywhere -

I'm going back to tournaments....

Sorry for your loss, Chips.

Thanks, Prax, I appreciate that. It sucks to be down so many bets no matter how large they are. I wish I could get as many hands in as Rusty; but I have a full-time job now and can only play 12-15 hours a week...

If you were up against some of the guys in the b/f fan club then a raise bluff here would indeed have you eating steak and black onions.

You don't need to get in as many as me. My winrate sucks and I play low stakes so I'm trying to make it up in volume. Where's my discount?

Be careful Rusty; if you lose money on every sale, you can't make it up in volume!
