Re: PS 60 - Come donk AJs with me
Ok, what do we put villain on for flop semi-bluff? AK and a c-bet? JJ? KQ? AQ pushes usually. Eh, his call had to make you sick. But that's the creamy goodness of the 'semi' part of the semi-bluff.
I do that river push when I have a read on a thinking villain who will hopefully take it as a sign of weakness. Works about 1 in 10 times. I think you're better off making a 400 value bet. Sometimes I check the river if I have an aggro read and I feel it's the only way to get a dime out of him. But here I think he's just looking to check it down, so you have to bet something. |

Re: PS 60 - Come donk AJs with me
I lead out almost every time after I check raise. People check behind too much after the check raise to make checking worth while. Besides I don't want him to check his trips/two pair and draw out on me for free. Of course if he is super aggressive/big bluff I might go for the check on the turn.

[/ QUOTE ] Well truthfully I'm pretty sure he's drawing dead at this point as I have him on JJ/TT/AK, and I want him to either bluff the turn or catch up on the river. BTW, my plan for a non-diamond, non-A/K turn was to jam, which I hoped would maximize my FE vs. mid-pairs and certainly get AK to fold. |
