[ QUOTE ] Anyone else having trouble seeing Michael C Hall as a non gay character? [/ QUOTE ] He is very convincing, I was shocked to find out he is married. [/ QUOTE ] I think that is just his girlfriend. But yeah, I keep expecting him to come out of the closet. |

Re: catching up with dexter
This show would never have even appeared on my radar without the OP's post so thanks loads for that. I just got finished watching the first three episodes and all I can say is wow.
Michael Hall works so well in the role, I really wondered whether I'd have a problem with his previous character on Six Feet Under but it's a total non-issue. I don't connect the two when I see them on screen at all. He was fantastic in the role of David and he's fantastic again in this role. The entire premise of the show is just brilliant. I wouldn't have thought they would beable to make it work without getting into real difficulty with the morality side of the show, but for me they really have. The key is that we actually end up empathising with the main character, a serial killer! That alone is worth many brownie points. Julie Benz also works well as the broken girlfriend, of course I was a big fan of her in Angel anyway. This has jumped straight into my top 5 or maybe even top 3 shows within three episodes which is quite a feat. I'm looking forward to seeing where they take it. |

Anyone else having trouble seeing Michael C Hall as a non gay character? The mannerisms he has as a person I just interpret as gay mannerisms from his character on SFU and it is really hard to get past that. Other than that I love this show and will definitely be watching the entire season. [/ QUOTE ] At first I did, but he basically plays a gay guy in this show. Which is much more believable to me than if he was straight up heterosexual. |

Re: catching up with dexter
All,
I thought this week's episode was great. Last week's I thought was a tad weak. Are other people still digging this show? Is everyone boycotting because they never follow through on the almost nudity? |

Re: catching up with dexter
I actually thought last week's episode (#8) was the best of the series so far. This past episode (#9) was very good as well.
The show is really starting to pick up steam, and I love that Dexter is getting more dimension, as opposed to finding new ways to say "I'm empty inside" again. |

I loved episode 8. So much going on. This week was really good too. The characters are developing so much now and you can get a sense of who they really are. Can't wait for Sunday.

Re: catching up with dexter
All,
I dunno, maybe I'll try and rewatch Ep 8. I can't put my finger on it, it just didn't seem to flow right for me. I am really looking forward to Dexter gutting her husband. When do we think that's happening? What did you think of the whole special ops murder subplot in last ep? I thought it was unnecessary and took away from the ep. |
