Steven King has been a big Potter fan for a while. Here's an interesting article by him about the series.

- overall, never liked it when harry started screaming at people. sure he loved his parents, but somehow, he fails to demonstrate it towards his friends in times of pressure? JKR needs to learn a little more about love... ( smashing dumbledore's office, yelling at ron, etc... )

I think its more likely that JR is familiar with hormonal teenagers. I always liked that in her books (at least the later ones) many characters were good and bad. I hate 'perfect' characters.

Just finished the book, amazed I managed to avoid all the spoilers until now and happy I did. Simply amazing and having read this thread you shouldnt get upset over plotholes - just imagine the task JKR had to write, she did exemplary work to even make the 7th book make sense.

Roll on the last two films but please WB make them true to the book, the scenes where Harry walks to his death and when the 3 hourses unite against Slytherin in the Great Hall gave me the shivers!

I am re-reading this via Audio Books on my Zen to work everyday. I still think HBP is a stronger book, but this is probably my 2nd favorite.

I just finished the book myself this weekend, and I am STUNNED that I avoided all the spoilers. I thought for sure Harry died and was very happy to see how it ended. Loved the book, and spent the last 3 weeks re-reading the whole series to lead up to #7. Finished it in one day, couldn't put it down!

I totally want to play Quidditch, but even more so, I want a wand.
