there are bets and there are bets. this one is similar to randomly blurting out "if u do X, i will eat my hat" or "i will bet a million dollars on X not happening" to some random at a bar, and then not eating said hat or not paying $1m to said stranger if X does not happen. trying to enforce this is retarded. its not the same as weaseling out of an honorable bet, wasvani-style. this whole thread is retarded.

IMO, the two things aren't comparable. Making a bet where you have no intent to pay or collect as a joke or WHATEVER, is hugely different from grimming.

If this was true, then why would Salazaar reduce the stakes from 10k to 1k? He took it down to more affordable stakes because he was booking a real bet. I can't understand why people don't see the chasm of difference between:

'I'll bet 10k this is real'
'Yeah I'd take that bet'

and

'I'll bet 10k this is real'
'1k booked. Post the proof'

In the first there is doubt as to whether a real bet is being made, in the second there is none. Anyway, obviously he's never going to pay now, but he's still a giant douchebag/total scum (depending on how strongly you feel about welching on bets.)
