I think if he is a good player, his range is QQ, hands that beat me, and hands that fold to a turn bet

[ QUOTE ]
whenever someone minraises preflop i normally assume it is a mistake/misclick and play the hand as if they had limped.

You have to bet the turn. You'll avoid the difficult decision on the river, at least, and get value from a lot of surprising crap as well. A lot of people will call two shots with an underpair or something like T7.

If you're not going to bet the turn, at least call the river. He's probably a pretty bad player if he's min raising UTG, and even decent players make retarded leads with less than KK on that river.

As played I would most likely fold the river.

I agree though, there are spots where you want to check the turn with KK to control pot size, but this is not one of them. I like a committing bet on the turn.

Turn needs a bet, and you can CH CH the river.
By checking turn, you induce bluff play.
If CR's on turn, you can probably release.

My thoughts:
I put UTG on pocket 9's or possibly 8's.

He raises just a bit preflop, then calls your reraise.

He probably put you on AK or AQ... especially when you checked that turn. I think you were way ahead the whole time and should have been much more aggressive.

He bet the river thinking he was ahead. You also did not include the chipstack sizes which would have been helpful to note.

I rule out JT for him. I think he raises the flop with JT.

If I'm WAY off in my thinking let me know your thoughts.

You're way off. Raising JT would be very bad and valuebetting overpot on the river with 99 would be too.

I disagree with folding here. Your opponent puts you on AK given your line and I would bet river to move you off your hand. You have under-represented your hand and I highly doubt Villian is going to bet $2500 into a $2375 pot here with just a flush. He either has a house or nothing. Factoring in the player profile you gave, I don't think he has JT most of the time here. So we are only worried about TT/22/55.

Given those three holdings, I think all three of them take a different line than the one Villian took. I call the river bet and expect to be shown air, AT, or some kind of pocket pair like 88/99.
