Default Ultraviolet

Opening tomorrow, directed by the Kurt Wimmer (director of Equilibrium), and generally pegged to be a terrible movie. They aren't screening it for critics, which I've said before is almost a sure-fire sign that a movie will be awful. Having said all that, I'm still really considering going to see it tomorrow. The promise of more "gun kata" turns me back into a huge fanboy. The choreographer is the same guy who worked on Equilibrium, so I'm generally expecting an equal or better level of action.

If you haven't seen the trailer yet, you can find it here.

Anybody else planning on seeing it? Anybody want to try and talk me out if it?

I just saw Equilibrium the other night for the first time. I think the hand-to-hand/gunfight scene at the end is now my favorite movie action sequence.

If you want to watch chicks kick ass and look hot check out Elektra, Underworld and Resident Evil before Ultraviolet. Even Blade 3 has Jessica Biel in tight outfits.

I am excited about V for Vendetta though, as far as comic book movies go.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...Jovovich is hot enough. Underworld is terrible and the action sequences in it are second rate. Elektra is terrible as well. And Resident Evil was passable (and also starred Jovovich). Blade 3 was great, as was every other Blade movie.

I actually won't be persuaded out of seeing this movie, but I think I'm trying to convince you guys that it won't be Grade F bad. I'm predicting (far?) better than average action sequences with below average story elements. The acting will be very meh. I'm actually excited about seeing it. GUN KATA PEOPLE...And Pistolero is right on, that final gun battle in Equilibrium is amazing. I'm pretty sure I slowed it down once and saw that they always come really close to getting a line on eachother, but never actually get there. It's really well done.

PS: Shajen, the way you rock everybody's body, you rock my body. MULTIPASS IS THE CHERRY ON TOP.
