400NL: played a pocketpair very badly
I don't remember table dynamics, but I don't think I got out of line and he didn't either. We weren't confronted in any hands before. Typical TAG stats.
I feel I played this very bad, because I got confused by him coldcalling my 3bet. I intended to check river first, but then decided to bet for value - now I feel that when I do so I must call a push or that I must bet a real amount around pot size. I put him on pocket-tens though. What do you recommend? Re: 400NL: played a pocketpair very badly
I think it's fine. You tried to keep the pot small with a one-pair hand, including a blocking bet on the river. No problem with that. His all-in bet does look suspicious, but I still fold to it. Just remember in the future that he may raise blocking bets -- you can use it to your advantage with a strong hand.
However, I continuation bet a lot, particularly heads-up, and probably would have taken a shot at it on the flop with a half-pot bet (again, I want to keep the pot small). |
