I can't think of one good reason to put them in upside down. The mere fact that there is a small percent chance of causing your soda to explode in your face as you are forced to rotate it from upside down to rightside up to be able to drink it would be reason enough not to do it. In addition, for those who drink multiple sodas a day this could add up to like a 25 second waste over the course of a year.

I wouldn't have bloody ooze all over the top of my soda cans that took 20 minutes to clean off.

i must be slow, i dont see how this would stop blood from getting on the top of the cans.

if they are upside down, they will be face first in the blood right?

dragonystic,

Nobody understood what he was saying. There isn't any reason for them to be upside down. But steaks mmmmmmm, makes me hungry--I am going to get me a steak now.

If you put them in upside down and the steak bleeds on them, the blood goes onto the shelf that they are sitting on and gets the top all bloody because the can is upside down. Bad idea.

If your refrigerator shelves aren't squeaky clean then you're sitting the lip of your can that you'll be putting your mouth to into filth.

Marinate said steaks in said meat-bloodied sodas. Problem solved.

I'd rather risk the very rare occurrence of something falling on top of my sodas than guaranteed whatever is on my refrigerator shelf, no matter how clean it is.
