How should we play AK preflop?
Poker Stars
No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $10/$20 6 players Converter Stack sizes: hero: $2554 UTG+1: $1950 CO: $2714 Button: $2477 SB: $2137 BB: $1562.90 Pre-flop: (6 players) hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hero raises to $70, UTG+1 raises to $240. , rest folds This should be just an example of the scenario i am talking about. Our Villain is a good regular running like 22/17/3.5 His range is (99)/TT+/(AJ)/AQ+ (and some hands to mix it up from him like 76s). I hope this sin`t way off. Now we have 4 options, from which i dislike only one. 1. Call: bad, we don`t get information and must continue OOP 2. Fold: It doesn`t fit into my aggro style 3. 4bet shove: We fold out all hands, but (JJ)/QQ+ and sometimes even the Q`s. Problem is we are way behind if called 4. 4bet to 700: I like this options most atm, because it lets us get away if Villain has KK+. Problem is we get sometimes pushed by an other Ak or QQ I would like to know which strategy has the most EV. Perhaps someone has some numbers on it. How does your action change if it`s CO vs BU? How does your action change if you are in position? |
