Why do you people continue to throw advice towards Anacardo.

You would do better to throw pennies down a well.

Isn't graduate school pretty freaking expensive? I mean how would he afford that (assuming he was even interested)?

My brother is getting fully funded for his Phd in literature from the university and grants and stuff. I mean it's much rarer in humanities than sciences, but it's not impossible.

I'm finishing my first year of the storied poker/grad school experience. They pay me to be there! $25/hr, one can do worse. Theoretically I'm supposed to work for them 20 hours a week, but it's just stuff I would be doing anyway.

The one story I have an appreciation for, kind of broached on in this thread, is the story of how Einstein was only able to develop relativity when he couldn't find a job in academia and worked at teh patent office. I'm in computer science, and there are definite boundaries as to the work I am supposed to be doing, which leaves me no time to pursue my own ideas. I can definitely see how academia can stifle genius. Good thing I'm not a genius, or I'd really feel stifled.

Cardo,

"going without a car is, for the time being, entirely out of the question."

STFU. Use MARTA like all the other people in Atlanta who don't want to be burdened with a car they can't afford.

To start with: Google AdSense or a similar ad service and then more personalized advertising (meaning more profit) in the future.

WOW

I'm not going to do your research for you, but I do know that Aquent is a large temp agency and I'm pretty sure they have a good presence in Atlanta in several fields. There might be some good leads for you on their website.

Seriously, if these threads are any indication people would read your blog; even if just to ridicule you. I was going to suggest this to my dad with a "Broke Pilot" blog where he could complain about being broke having lost 50% of his pay from Delta and everyone else in the country would come comment to tell him to STFU because he was still making well over 100k. Of course, then Delta had to go giving away money to pilots and he started making expenses again and he's not broke anymore.
