Default Fill in the Blank Question (LC)

Hawaii is the worst 10-0 I-A football team since ___________.

???

They've played 2 teams in the Top 100 and zero teams in the Top 70 yet they still have:

- An OT one point win over La. Tech where they had to score a TD in OT and then knock down the pass on a 2-point conversion to win.

- A 52-37 home win over 0-10 Utah State that was in doubt until well into the 4th quarter. This is a team that is a very strong contender to be the worst in all of I-A.

- Another OT win over San Jose State where they were down 14 with 4:00 to go and they got lucky and picked up a fumble.

- A 7-point home win over Fresno State.

- A miracle 2-point win over Nevada where they got the ball gifted to them by the referees twice, once when they clearly fumbled and the ref blew the whistle before Nevada could recover and once where they recovered a "fumble" that should have been an incompletion. With all that, they still would have lost this game if Chris Ault had not made a ridiculously bad coaching error at the end that should be cause to get a high school coach fired.

So, what do you think? I know the game's evolved a ton and that last year's Ohio State team probably could have beat the OU teams that won 40 in a row under Switzer, but Hawaii's still all-time caliber bad. Without actually looking for candidates, I'd guess that they're still the worst I-A team to go 10-0 since at least 1960.

Edit: Meant to put this in Sporting Events, but it might be fun to put it here where it will get a little more intelligent crowd. I'm legitimately curious here.
