made a big mistake in this hand
Villain was passive in position preflop, but 3-bet me a lot oop and also limp-raised me sometimes, since I am very aggro pre. Post villain is tricky and aggro.
Stacks are about even at t1500. Hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the sb. Hero posts sb of t10. Hero raises to t60, villain calls. Flop: (pot is t120) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero bets t80 This was a major error and I immediately realized it after the hand. |

Re: made a big mistake in this hand
Check and let him catch a boat. Or even better, he might bet for you the whole way with nothing or a smaller pocket pair. That's my thinking anyway.

Re: made a big mistake in this hand
Like lbiars said, let him catch something. You essentially flopped the nuts. And if he somehow does happen to have a 7, it is the only way you maybe dont go broke. But I'm going broke on this hand.

Re: made a big mistake in this hand
I would't call this a big mistake, i would't even call this a mistake. If you both have been very aggro, and you've been raising alot pre, then he might think you are bluffing, and try to steal the pot. The only thing that can scare him is a very unlikely 7, og a PP.
Check-raising him or calling him down, then betting river would not be a better option IMO. |

Re: made a big mistake in this hand
ok, i guess the players I'm playing are just really bad. Here is their thought process on this flop:
He can't have a 7, if I pair up one of my cards I will have a full house and go allin. So I should call any bet on the flop and turn. |

Re: made a big mistake in this hand
Very funny acidca, I just played this hand and thought about this thread and how to extract the most. Villain may have called me if I pushed all-in on river, but I just wanted a call and take control of the tourny.

Re: made a big mistake in this hand
Incidentally, since I like to keep a quick pace in my HU sng's, I often make a quick bet, they immediately fold, and I'll ask myself "Why the hell did I bet that?"
