I'm still pretty new at HU, but I think it's a good VB. He could have lots of pair + gutshot hands or 66/77 on the flop that he'll call a smallish river bet with. Bet like 30?

I don't see much value to a bet here. I suppose he might look you up with 66, but otherwise you fold worse and get called by better.

I guess you could make some kind of rinkydink 1/3 pot bet; it might set up some profitable bluffs if you can establish a small river vb, but on its own it has little value.

It also sets you up for getting check-raised out of hands that look like what they are; thin value bets.

It's fine to v-bet here if you can make a tiny bet like this with the nuts sometimes (when you know he suspect he doesn't have much but might try to bluff you if he reads you as thin -betting)

yeah, b/c of that i would actually never do this unless villain was superweak passive and then I'd only do it as pure value I think, not to set up a bluff.
