Casinos in France (Nice area) - any tourneys or hold \'em?
I know there probably aren't too many in the 2+2 crowd that frequent the French casinos, but Google searches haven't turned up any real results...so why not try. If anyone know of a better forum to ask, do go ahead and point me in the right direction.
Anyway, I'm going to Nice in August, and naturally wanted to catch some poker action while I'm there. Weirdly enough, the casinos I've found in Nice/Monaco/Cannes don't seem to have any Hold 'Em games. Being the internet donkey I am, I of course have no clue about stud, which seems to be about the only poker they have. Can anyone clue me in as to this really is the case, or if there are any hold 'em games available in the region? If so, where? SNGs are of particular interest (fat chance though...). I'm also looking for any tournaments held in the area in August, the tourney sites I've found don't seem to indicate any action (then again, they list the bigges ones). Appreciate any help, search tips on Google not needed |

Re: Casinos in France (Nice area) - any tourneys or hold \'em?
I traveled through Europe last summer and stopped in Nice. I was hoping to play some poker and took the trip to Monaco to check out the casinos. They do not have hold em, and the stud they have is not the stud you are thinking of. Its five card stud, and you play against the dealer. The only place I found with hold em in France was in Paris at the Aviation Club. Hope this helped, have a good trip (Nice is unbelievable, I'm jealous).

Nice is close to Monte Carlo, but no poker is typically played there. In fact, the only place fully licensed to deal Poker in France is the ACF in Paris. Laws wrt to this have recently changed, but I don't think anybody has started dealing poker yet.
