Horus:
Born on Dec 25
born of a Virgin
Located by a star from the east
Adorned by 3 kings
A teacher at 12
Had 12 disciples

Hi, I find this sort of thing interesting and I would say that if it all were true, that it would cast huge doubts on the Jesus story. It’s just that we’ve been over this before and posters like Stu Pidasso, or NotReady, can quickly poke enough holes in this to make it look like an exaggeration, or a reconstruction of history.

I haven’t made it through all your links, but I’ve seen several like them before. As I stated, I do find them interesting. I’m just not sure how historically accurate the presentation is.

Trust me I'm the first one to try to poke holes into theories like these, but this seems pretty strong. They may exaggerate here and there but the core is not an exaggeration or reconstruction.

On another issue, I'm positive D. Sklansky doesn't know most of these facts, and that if he did he'd have a much less neutral position towards religion.

How do we know these ancient people were born on "December 25th"? What does that even mean in the context of 5000 BC?

Yeah, they're associated with the winter solstice. Couple of days out.
