One thing that needs to come out of this 'scandal' is that everyone should write their representatives in Congress and say "Please protect us from those horrible off-shore cheating poker companies by regulating this industry so we can play legally and safely!"

[ QUOTE ]
Guys, going on a massive witch hunt to hunt down new possible cheaters at this juncture is just pointless and will take attention away from the current issue.

[/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. The fact that we have concrete evidence of cheating in this instance is the exact reason that we should be doing everything we can to determine how deep this runs.

Do you think Absolute is going to do a complete audit and divulge this info themselves? No. Now is the time to work hard to find out how deep this goes.

[ QUOTE ]

We have concrete evidence that people on Absolute are cheating, and we need to focus on holding AP accountable for their last month of straight 'damage control' and worry more about getting the word out about this situation and getting the answers to the questions posed, and spend less time distracting people reading the thread from the pertinent issues at hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

Cheating is the pertinent issue at hand. It is highly likely that this has been an ongoing problem and everyone who has played on AP should be making every effort to determine if they have evidence of cheating in recorded hand histories.

[ QUOTE ]

And as for the people suggesting requesting more hand histories from AP, are you retarded? Do you seriously expect them to be dumb enough to incriminate themselves further by sending out more XLS spreadsheets with private user info on them, and dig themselves into a bigger hole? Especially when it has been confirmed that they are reading these threads? Wow the naievity of some of the posters here is completely appalling. Stop reading so many bad mystery novels.

[/ QUOTE ]

AP has a policy of providing hand histories to their customers, their refusal to do so is pretty damning imo. Nobody expects them to provide hh's that reveal hole cards, however, hh's from tournaments we have played should be provided and together would provide evidence of blatant cheating if it existed...

Has this Steamroller's tourny score been discovered yet? Found a post on finnish forum today by the guy who finished 7 in that tourny describing steamrollers playing style very superuserish.
I don't remember other than cash games being discussed by this alias earlier.

Beg him for the HH please. This could have been going on for longer than first thought, I think this is important.

lol @ Mark Seif's logic. Does he expect reasonable people to take his comments seriously? Of course not every hand is suspicious/cheating.

Ask him if he could request it, though I doubt that will do anything since AP support is a joke now more than ever.

Anyone else got any better ideas...?

Maybe OT:- Background info regarding Kanawahke.

A 2002 dispute between Microgaming and Sunny Group casino involving games cheating customers:

[ QUOTE ]
Microgaming fights dirty to salvage it's tarnished reputation

An employee of Casino Fortune was physically prevented from securing Sunny Group servers by Mohawk Internet Technologies’ Security on Tuesday, 26th March 2002. This was done on the orders of Microgaming.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
Casino Fortune Finally Obtains Player Balances, But At What Cost?
In the few weeks since Casino Fortune’s servers were seized by Mohawk Internet Technologies (MIT) and Microgaming, there have been death threats, Trojans which crashed customers’ hard drives, spam emails, and newspaper articles about Martin Moshal in major South African newspapers.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not sure if this is relevant in any way, but it looks like Kanawahke were never squeaky-clean.

Default Re: Serious Journalists Getting Interested

This really is a HUGE story. It is the biggest scandal in the history of online poker (maybe poker in general even?) and it's just such a compelling story. I would be very surprised if we didn't see some serious journalists doing stories on this.

The longer it takes AP to come clean and just admit what happened and fix it, the more likely we are to see this snowball into an eventual 60 Minutes story. If they'd just thoroughly investigate with the help of truly independent unbiased experts, figure out what happened, divulge what happened, and take corrective measures, there would be no controversy and this would die down over time. They've taken *one of* the worst approaches so far IMO, and if they don't "switch gears" it's going to be a HUGE story all over the place.

[ QUOTE ]
They know its a forum and they aren't going to take everything seriously.

Its basically the reason they still haven't picked up the story.

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah, well, I talked to MSNBC yesterday and have an ESPN interview this afternoon
