Re: Wpt fallsview
They didn't have any last year, just the WPT events. Last year the also ran a 2nd WPT event, but it was not a prelim. Don't expect any large MTTs outside the main event.
They will spread NL games as high as they have players. Last year 25/50nl ran around the clock, and I believe they ran higher games when Eli and Daniel were playing. I'd expect a good selection of games, but get there early. Last year getting in a game at 8pm would take 3-4 hours. I'll be there. |

Re: Wpt fallsview
Thayer told me there's a $2.5k event 4 days before the WPT at the same casino, but I haven't been able to find information on it.

I'm pretty sure that $2500 event is not happening this year.

Re: Wpt fallsview
I email fallsview to ask, they told me that there will just be the 10k WPT this year, no smaller tournies going on during the week besides sats.
I live nearby, gonna try to sat in. if not I will probably be around most of the week anyways info: http://www.fallsviewcasinoresort.com/Def...Description+WPT |

Re: Wpt fallsview
Considering trying a satellite or two for the $10k tourney at Fallsview.
I'm not experienced with large tourneys like this so I was wondering if anyone could comment on a few questions I have. There's a $90 satellite, 1 table. Winner gets entry into $640 satellite (2 tables, winner of that gets entry into main event, 2nd gets entry into another higher satellite, 3rd gets re-entry into $640). My question involves the blind structure in the $90. You start with $1000, blinds go up every 10 minutes. So after ten minutes, you're already at 50-100 = 10 BBs. This seems ridiculous to me; do most satellites function like this? Live hands seem to take 2-3 minutes so is there really any point in trying to play poker instead of just pushing with decent hands and hoping to get lucky? Any insight is appreciated. |

I think it was a quasi-preliminary event, starting before the main but ending after. Did the WPT film it? I didn't think so...anyway, glad to be of no help. |

I believe they filmed that event to air on Canadian TV.

Re: Wpt fallsview
I have a question about registration. I sent an email asking them some questions and now I am even more confused.
The email said this "I am accepting limited pre-registration choice of starting day until tomorrow night, otherwise you need to register on Friday Regards, Jason" The representative on the phone told me that they don't have a limit to how many ppl can play on each day. So why am I not allowed to just show up Sunday morning register pay and play? Can some enlighten me, because I thought that was fine, but now this email and an unsure WPT rep on the phone is making me think otherwise and this tournament director seems to be the only one to know anything and is difficult to reach. |

Re: Wpt fallsview
Unless you are Jason's list of pre-registration players, you MUST register tomorrow or Friday.
The rep saying "they don't have a limit to hom many ppl can play" is not 100% accurate; every live tournament has a physical limit to the number of players that can play (these limits set by the # of seats, # of tables, # of staff, # of days). There is a limit for each day to keep the days balanced (we cannot have 100 people show up to play on Friday and the 400 people on Sunday). |
