Default Deep set

Villian is 18/17 after about 80 hands, seems to be a good player, have not seen him raising from the blinds prior to this even though I am not 100% sure he hasnt. Have not been involved with him in any big pots. My image is probably TAG.

Relevant stacks:
Hero: $1733
Villian (BB): $1420

2.5/5, 6 players

Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
3 folds, Button calls, Hero calls, Villian raises to 25, Button folds, Hero calls

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (55, 2 players)
Hero bets 48, Villian raises to 125, Hero calls

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (305, 2 players)
Hero checks, Villian bets 250, Hero calls

River Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (805, 2 players)
Hero checks, Villian bets 500, Hero calls..

Almost all of the time when we flop a set we are obv happy to get all the money in but I choosed a more conservative line here, like/dislike/hate?

Do you prefer a raise (or fold) somewhere?

300bbs deep i don't hate it. it'd be gross if you raised turn and he shoved. looks ok.

Although on second look, based on pf action (raising a limper from the sb), he probably doesn't have a small pair. so the ONLY hand you are worried about is AAA. More likely he has AK, I think you can find a raise on the turn... its just too too remote that you are actually behind here, and you are probably losing a lot of value just by calling down. So I change my mind. Raise turn!

Also, why'd you donk bet on the flop if you weren't planning on playing a big pot?

Why not just C/R flop, bet turn, all-in river

I would CR that flop with the FD out there. Sometimes CRing the turn would be okay too. I like how you played it though.

I dunno if I've got the stomach to play a 600 bet pot with bottom set. I like how this was played but I also am okay with c/r flop b/c turn c/c river if it comes to that. I'm pretty much never folding and I don't absolutely hate getting all the money in, but I think I'm trying to avoid that most of the time if possible.

I think leading the flop, he wouldn't put you on a strong hand. He'd probly put u on a middle pair like 88/99.
I think I like a raise on the turn though since most of the time he may call with hands like AK, AQ, flush draws.

River bet in this case is kind of scary though since AK is a thin value bet, but AQ would probably bet this or a broken flush as well. Raising wouldn't get much action so i love the riv call

i rele dont like this line because you lose some value from AK and AQ, or if he flops a club draw with like KQcc you could definitely get more money out of him (tho as played I'd say that's not the case). i'd say he has AQ or AK a lot to make not valueraising somewhere in here losing a decent bit of value. i'd probably c/r turn to $700 and call shove, or c/rai on riv.
