Re: $3 Million Downsizing.............
[ QUOTE ]
I'm curious why everyone is rooting so hard for BT to 'bounce back' ? [/ QUOTE ] because he developed a homegrown following on 2+2 and always shared his upswings with the public, and people enjoy hearing about amazingly awesome upswings. That said, I'm sure there's an equal number of people who are rooting for him to go busto, cuz people enjoy watching superstars flame out even more than they enjoy watching their upswings. Too bad for them, Brian has stated that he has a mansion + retirement plan, so he has no chance of going busto. |

Re: $3 Million Downsizing.............
lol, ya the idea of sbrugby going busto is pretty absurd. He's a smart kid and I'm sure he's set millions aside, removed from poker, that will protect his own financial future. And even IF, somehow, he gets cold decked for months and months to come, who wouldn't stack this guy at 100/200 + with the results he's shown?

[ QUOTE ] Two words of advice Perky Benyamine oh. and Zigmund [/ QUOTE ] indeed. while i understand brian wants to be the best and beat the 2nd best, i have never understood his compulsion to always play anyone, at any game, even when he's not on top of his game or running well. when you combine this with the fact that he knows he tilts, it just blows my mind. play with table selection for like a [censored] week and get your game straight. [/ QUOTE ] Wasn't Benyamine the "absolute best NLHE player in the world" literally like 6-9 months ago? |

At the WSOP 3 years ago I talked to this Canadian NL player ('sugarqube' on UB) who said he had been tracking the games and David B. was the biggest winner by far. (He also said Prahlad was not nearly as big of a winner as people though.) Not sure what to make of that but it's interesting given that David B. is the undisputed HSNL donk of the recent past. (Next to Guy of course.) |

Funny how public opinion can change so radically... or be so wrong? |

Re: $3 Million Downsizing.............
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] sounds like he's tilting 'i lost $xxxxx but i think i played really well' = what people (including me) tend to say when they are not playing well [/ QUOTE ] wouldn't people also tend to say this when they are playing well but lost? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah they would, but as downswings of this magnitude deteriorate most people's play you need to convince yourself double you were actually playing well when on such a swing. There is a big difference between 'I was playing really well yesterday, ended up a few buyins down though, shrug' and 'i lost 20 buyins over the past few days, I think I played really well though'. Both can be true, but the former is much more likely to be then the latter, both because of the magnitude as because of the phrasing. |
