Completely sucked into this hand!!!!!!
MMT, first hand, 9 players on my table, blinds 25/50 with starting stack of 2000. This is LIVE, not online!
First hand: Two limpers, I'm on the button and I'm about to look at my cards and the SB is about to muck his hand, I say "hang on, I've yet to act!" and he puts his cards back down. I look down at QQ so raise to 300 total, he messes around and then calls me, two limpers both fold. Flop A 2 3, he checks and at this point I'm sure he doesn't have an ace due to the fold-attempt out of turn. Think he's maybe got a 2 or 3 so decide to just knock him off the hand and go all in, he calls straight away. He turns to me and he's a sly smile saying "sucker!!!" and turns over..... AA I failed to get the running queens I needed and I'm out first hand. How could I fall for something so obvious as that trick and is this a normal thing as I've not seen it before!!?? Any comment, nice or nasty welcome! |

Shoving for 1700 into ~700 pot isn't a good way to find out if he has an A.

Re: Completely sucked into this hand!!!!!!
Incidently, if villain had just reraised preflop, he busts you, but he didn't know you had QQ.
As for the trick, he must not have gone too far with the fold cards motion, as he really doesn't want that hand to be mucked. Also, if someone wants to muck there hand before you act, I wouldn't say anything. I once had a situation where there was a raise and call, I had QQ and I hesitated thinking how to play it. I didn't immediately say raise. The guy to act after me said raise, and I said allin. They tried to fold after I pushed, but they said he had to call allin. He had JJ and of course made a set. On the flop, either check behind or bet about 400, folding to a raise. |
