Owen Wilson ban - plz confirm

Was in OOT.

Was because the actor apparently attempted suicide in the last day.

Kept offering up "life's too short" quips that were clearly intended to draw intention to the gimmick, not remotely funny.

Thoughts? I banned out of forum but it seemed to make sense.

I would probably just report the posts and PM a OOT mod. The usual policy is that, unless someone's going to do significant damage before the forum's mod can get to them, just report the guy like any other poster.

I don't know how many times he posted this though. If it was like 15 times in 5 minutes...

Poster in question started an entire OT thread about how to play a certain hand - IN OOT - prior to this. He clearly didn't care about anyone's feedback, just hoped to use his username to be shocking. Sorry if I offended anyone or crossed any lines, seriously.

EDIT: what's relevant here is that he did so under the guise of a person who tried to kill himself today? WTF?!?!?!

Usually just hit notify mod for stuff like this. If the guy was posting prolifically across many threads then temp ban him for 4 hours and let a forum mod do the permaban. Sometimes I'll send a PM with a link to a mod if I think immediate action needs to be taken.

I think in this case no one will disagree with your actions, but in the future you never know. One man's spam could be another's treasure.

Obviously, feel free to permaban spammers on site.
