starting with double stack

we have a homegame at home with a small buyin, because i'm not a nit like everyone there i want to start with 200bb, they think 100bb is too much so what should i do.. should i tell them that buyin in for the double amount is ok from now on, or should i ask some friend to stack me the first hand and hand him the cash for it ?

ill think ill just say, hey guys ill buy in for the double amount, any1 wanna come along ?

Dude, you're not being clear. Are you talking about a cash game or a tournament? Either way, # of bbs doesn't have to have anything to do with physical dollars.

I assume this is a cash game and you're trying to grow it?

First, you're not going to make gamblers out of people who don't want to gamble. You need to make friends with fish with deep pockets. It only takes one or two to get a game going.

Second, why not just buy in for double? If it's a cash game, who cares? That's what I did on my game. I felt $20 in .25/.50 was way too constrictive, so once people got familiar with it, I said it was an optional $20-$40 buyin. Now we're up to .5/1 with $100 buyin.

If it's a tournament, just give everybody a doublestack for the same buyin, problem solved. Or halve the blinds.

yeah, that's the way to go- it will solve ALL of your problems.

If your question relates to tourney play, then doubling the blinds helps agressive players. There is more value in raising, and the tight players have less time to pick up a hand. You should encourage a blind structure that favors your style of play.

yeah sorry, it is a cashgame and currently we're playin 5/5 CENTS!
i want to either play 5/10c or 5/5 with deepstacks, but no one seems to want it, so ill suggest buyin in for 5-10$ is permitted now

Don't suggest, just do it. It's your game, run it.

But I'm telling you, it doesn't sound like your friends want to play the game you want to play. Get the word out and bring in a few more people. It'll take a while, but you'll eventually have enough turnover to raise the game up.

Because, really, if you're the only one with $10, you're really just playing $5, no? Here's a good way to bring it in... do the initial buyin of $5 with everybody else. If you get stacked, rebuy for $10.

Rule: Any player can add to their chip stack at any time (between dealing hands), up to the size of the biggest stack at the table.
