Default Full Tilt # of games going

(6-max, 5 or 6 players)

1/2 58
2/4 38
3/6 4
5/10 11
10/20 5
25/50 1

Now, there are also plenty of 9-handed and HU games going, but they are in similar ratios to the numbers above.

Are those types of numbers (specifically, the relative numbers of games when comparing different limits) standard for FT?

I only play on stars, but the ratio of 3/6 to 2/4 is really weird. why is that?

Because everyone runs bad at 3/6 so they would rather play at 2/4 long enough so they can skip that level and play 5/10.

because people don't like putting out two chips of different denominations for the blinds

Ive always wondered this as well.

Its usually a lot of 2/4, very little 3/6, and usually more 5/10 than 3/6.

I've played all 3 stakes for 2 months and im still confused.

multiplying bets by 6 is just weird

first few times I play it I'm sitting there trying to figure out preflop raises, and I'm like wtf is (4.5 x 6) ?? that's the only limit I ever played where I just guessed at proper raise sizes because I didn't want to take the time to actually figure them out on the fly

also, 3/6 is only about 50% bigger/smaller than the games on either side of it... going straight from 2/4 to 5/10 is only a 2.5x jump whereas normally skipping a limit would be a 4x jump... so I think more people use it as just a quick stepping stone instead of spending a long time grinding it?

How come if there is 3/6 there is no 4/8?

Also what are the equivalent stars table #s?
