Shoulda stuck with my thoughts yesterday and not hopped back on AGS, he just didnt' handle the track. At least I won a little back on Curlin box because Hard Spun always hits the board.

Good w/e overall with Corinthian, Eng Channel winning, ex box and the tri box on Mile. Won some nice h2h as well, with Curlin in one over LR, and in HS over GeoW for the max on another.[-120 zomg!] SS over LRon +105 and Curln over LR +115[!]

My bets on the turf race were a disaster! It really is not 'shocking' that Dylan Thomas did not fire - because I saw a video replay of the Arc and it was a HUGE effort. I just get caught up in disliking Pletcher and ugh. Naj was dead on English Channel today and...we can only hope you took a spray on the exotics in that race to cover Sham in place!?

I nailed the Classic, which leaves me feeling very happy. After the Preakness I vowed to never bet a Curlin race without him on top. Today I also applied the lesson of the all button for show and hit the trifecta and 10-cent super twice. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Looking back I wish I would have crushed the mile, but that is how racing goes. If you hindsight too much it will drive you completely insane.

Race 8) Mile

This race looks very competitive. The turf course is a 7f oval and the obvious pick drew post 13. No horse has ever won from post 13 or 14, but it is not impossible. Note that there may be late scratches due to the condition of the course and that would move the favorite inside a bit.

This is a race that always seems to be very close and exciting. And there are a number of horses in here to avoid because they seem to prefer firm ground. Here are some ideas:

8 - Kip Deville
This is his distance
Trainer Dutrow thinks he is the one to beat
He beat Tagg's Showing Up at a mile last spring

13 - Excellent Art
Likely favorite for good reason

7 - Cosmonaut
Good form, good works, J Lep

10 - My Typhoon
I think this horse is dangerous shortening up for Mott
She is going against the boys, but could be big price

14 - Remarkable News
Must be respected, but also likes to fire out of gate and will need a good trip from outside post

9 - Nobiz Like Shobiz
Will get some play 3-for-3 on grass, but is facing older horses for the first time and all his wins have come on firm turf
